The Fox Blog

FRIDAY

by LoriG on Mar.12, 2010, under The Fox Early Mornining Show

is here! But it’s going to be a rainy weekend. So on that note, grab the comfort foods, watch some good movies, listen to the Fox and JUST relax! How’s that for a plan?

Big “idol” night last night with our Top 12 revealed. A couple of surprises last night though!  I was very surprised Paige WASN’T voted off.  If she doesn’t nail it next week, it’s time somebody does vote her off.  She really has to be over the top! Little Katie Stevens got another chance too. If she starts singing younger songs and has some more fun on the stage, she will save herself.  I’m sad to see Aaron Kelly go home. I think he would’ve eventually climbed out of that shell, and his “stage freight” lessen as time when on, but it should’ve happened sooner.  Andrew Garcia got a second chance…he better bring back the style we fell in love with Hollywood Week or he’s the next one to go.  Todrick Hall was sent home, but I think his career on Broadway will begin very soon. He’s got that theatrical poise about him! And last but not least, Lilly Scott. She was voted off because like she said ” Idon’t know what it is America wants.”  I thought she was pretty good and dissappointed we won’t see her in top 12. Whew.  All right, that’s my opinion. How about yours? Got any?

This morning’s movie was “High Anxiety!’ Loove that Mel Brooks movie and so does Chris Schaefer of Port Jervis winning two tickets to Destinta! Today’s the last day you could win 25 New York State Lottery’s “Lucky Charm 3’s ” instant game tickets! Listen all day long, not only to win those, but for your chance to win Broadway tickets to see “Memphis! ” Johnny and Darcy both a pair for you!! Good luck!! And Brainbuster Trivia will return on Monday. Sponsored by “Bouncing Charlie’s Playhouse” in New Windsor. Win a gift certificate when you answer the trivia question!

We’re doing it again folks! WE’RE FILLING AN ENTIRE THEATER  WITH FOX LISTENERS AT SHOWTIME CINEMAS IN NEWBURHGH FOR A PRIVATE VIEWING OF “ALICE AND WONDERLAND!’  That’s right, beginning Monday, listen for the “alice in wonderland” sounder, be caller number ten and you’ll win a pair of tickets to see the movie, Thurs. March 25th at 7:30pm.  You’ll even get popcorn and soda too-so make sure you’re listening!!

On Monday, we’ll have another pair of tickets to see the show “Come Fly Away”, for the Tues. 3/16 show at 8pm!

Have a good weekend! Stay dry and remember…clocks go AHEAD one hour Sunday at 2am! Change the batteries in your smoke detector and your  CO2 detector too!!

Still laughing at Darcy’s blog

by LoriG on Mar.11, 2010, under The Fox Early Mornining Show

C’mon Darce…who is the guy? Give us his name, pleeeease. It’s Johnny Wolf-boy isn’t it!!? I KNEW IT!  That explains the big scab and redmark between his eyes!!  Ah-HA!!!  Johnny waxes his eyebrow, Johnny waxes his eyebrows….hehehehehehe!

I’m a dead woman.

Onward with your recap, before I get in any more trouble here.

Morning Movie Madness winner of Destinta tickets was,  Toni Faig of New Windsor, guessing the movie “The Bucket List.”   Brianbuster Trivia will resume on Monday. We promise!  However, until then make sure you’re listening all day long to win those 25 New York State Lottery “Lucky Charm 3’s” tickets and too, a chance to win tickets to see a Broadway show! Darcy and Johnny both have tickets to “Memphis!”

We’re “idol chatting” at around 8:10 on Wednesday and Thursday now that we’ll be down to our Top 12 after tonight! What four are going? I’ve got a pretty good idea what two girls are going,  but no idea what two guys are getting axed! If I had to take a wild guess, I’d say Tim Urban and Todrick Hall. Yay? Nay? We’ll see tonight!

WOW, we got on a such a hot topic that the phone lines exploded with listeners wanting to comment on it! An 11 year old boy named Jordan from PA  shot his stepmother in the head killing her and the unborn child. She was 8 1/2 months pregnant and was going to name  the baby Chris, after Jordan’s dad. One morning Jordan  took a GUN THAT HIS DAD GAVE HIM FOR HUNTING, shot his stepmother in the head -then proceeded to get on the school bus and go to school.  They are now giving him an option for two sentences (an option?)…life in prison with no parole OR placed in detention until he’s 21, then released with NO record.  What the? Not rocket science to figure out which one they’ll bargain for, but how YOUNG IS TOO YOUNG for a life sentence!? We’re talking murder here!!  Was the motive was to kill? Don’t you think he knew what he was doing, his dad gave him the gun to hunt and kill. So do you think he was just trying to scare her and “oops” shot her? NOT!  My/our opinion:  it sounded like a premeditated adult crime, so he should be tried as an adult.  Didn’t the father see this coming ? There was obviously some serious underlying issues here and IGNORANCE leaving a GUN to an 11 year old!!   Majority of you think the kid should be tried as an adult.  Thank you for all your calls…we love to hear from you, our listeners!!

Amen.

I’m going to have my eyebrows waxed now. Gotta go. Have a good day! We’ll chat again tomorrow morning for the big Friday show!

Uh…

by LoriG on Mar.10, 2010, under The Fox Early Mornining Show

quick hit for bloggin’ this morning.

This morning’s movie was “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad World.”  The tickets to Destinta were won by Andrew Higgins of Middletown, NY!  Kathy Korycki of New Windsor heard the “Lucky Charm” sounder, was caller number ten and won 25 New York State Lottery’s Instant Game Tickets called “Lucky Charm 3’s” and a top prize of $1500! Good luck! AND, we gave away a pair of tickets to the Broadway show “Memphis” -Darlene Benzenberg of Ferndale, NY grabbed them! Listen all day long to win!

We recapped last night’s “American Idol” with the 8 girls battling it out for a spot in the Top 12!  Who do you think gave their best performance? Who bombed out? My picks- I think Crystal Bowersox was the best performance of the night..she’s definitely safe.  And the girls that I think will be packing to go home…definitely Paige Myles  -butchered the song “Smile”…it was painful to watch and listen to… and a toss between Katlyn Epperly-I’m not feeling it for her, not sure what it is…. or do I dare say..Katie Stevens? She’s got a kicking voice for a 17 year old and I do hope she gets to say another week to prove herself!! The potential is there if she can just figure out what type of singer she wants to be!  Hopefully America got it right and voted out Didi Benami instead….last night’s performance was better than last week’s BUT her ”Megan Joy” voice is getting on my last good nerve.  She’s a sweet girl, but the voice is piercing at times. How’s that for being blunt. :-) ))))))  The guys take the stage tonight. Let’s see what happens. We’ll chat about it again tomorrow morning at 8:10 if you’d like to chime in at 866-887-4FOX.

Ooops.

by LoriG on Mar.09, 2010, under The Fox Early Mornining Show

Forgot to blog yesterday! And for those of you that actually read the blog (like, all three of you) … sorry that I left ya hangin’.  I’m sure I’ll make up for it today. Ya ready? Heeeeeeere we go!

This morning we picked a classic for a movie. For all you Don Knotts fans, “The Incredible Mr. Limpett” was the movie and two tickets to Destinta Movie Theaters went to Laura Lee Wagner of Newburgh!  Love his movies! Another movie that Bob and I HIGHLY recommend and one that I saw last night…Academy Award Winning “The Hurt Locker!” Wow! Now I understand why it won the two awards, Best Picture and Director. The move actually won six all together. I think every single person living here in America should sit down and watch this movie! What a powerful picture! Loved it.  I have such a huge respect, admiration and love for all our military personnel, and after watching this movie, I’m even more indebted to them for life. God bless each and every one of them-we honestly can’t thank you enough!  Watch the movie, you’ll see!

How about those Broadway show tickets, huh?  We’ve got tons of them we’re giving away, so make sure you’re listening all day long! Johnny and Darcy are both giving away some too! This morning we gave away two tickets to the show “Mamma Mia”…Lisa McDermott of Newburgh got them. Enjoy! Here’s a little inside info…shhhh, don’t tell anyone BUT tomorrow morning… Bob and I will have another pair of tickets to give away, but this time it’s for “Memphis” Thurs. 3/11.

St. Patty’s Day is right around the corner and we’re celebrating by giving you 25 New York State Lottery’s “Lucky Charm 3’s ” tickets!! It’s so easy to win. Listen ALL DAY LONG for the “Lucky Charms” sounder, be caller number ten and you’ll win.  The top prize is fifteen hundred bucks!! Good luck my friend!   Remember, you must be at least 18 years of age to win, and prizes must be claimed in New York State.  This morning’s winner was Theresa Andidero of Montgomery.

The hot topic of the morning…”The Push for Junk Food Tax!”   US Health Researchers are at it once again pushing for a tax on junk food, estimating an 18% tax on pizza and soda could be enough to force Americans to lose weight.-by about five pounds.  We took your phone calls and wish we could’ve gotten to all of you, but we only have a four hour show! WOW..you’re as ticked off about this as we are!! Can you say “dictatorship”  or  “when in doubt, TAX the people.”   This is ludicrous and they’re going to get away with it! We understand the motive behind the tax, but you can’t tell us that there’s no other way to solve the obesity problem? We know it helps to contribute to overwhelming healthcare costs but obesity isn’t the only thing that does! Our listeners sounded off some really good suggestions…why doesnt’ our government ever listen to us, the PEOPLE!? Because it falls on deaf ears every single time.  Like how about starting with our kids, and fund more programs to get these kids off their rear end …or add PE to their schedule more than once or twice a week! Hell, we pay enough in school taxes to help don’t we!? I’m going to start rambling ’cause it ticks me off too. But,  I just have this one question..who in the heck is running this research, Jenny Craig..Richard Simmons…Adolf von simmons?   Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! Frustrating.

Told you I’d make up for the rants and raves I didn’t blog yesterday.

We’ll continue this convo tomorrow at 6, shall we? Join us then and have a good one!! xxxooo

Putting the MAN back in MANLY

by Darcy on Mar.05, 2010, under Uncategorized

Just saw some friends this week and one of them asked if I had seen a particular person- no way am I giving the name. I hadn’t. This guy friend of mine had his eyebrows waxed. Yup. And I saw them yesterday, evidentally, the waxer thought he was going for a softer look. I’ll ask point blank- if it ain’t broke, why fix it?! Guys- wax only if you have a unibrow, okay? Ladies have their preferences and they’re allowed. Just like we’re not supposed to ask you to pull our finger, you need to stay away from our beauty secrets!

A quick recap (yeah right…not once I begin typing) of the morning:

Morning Movie Madness:   The movie “Good Morning Vietnam”…the winner…Dennis Zingarelli of Walden. Thursday’s blog…

by LoriG on Mar.04, 2010, under Uncategorized

and I promise I will go easy on you today. :-)

This is one of those “bloggin’  on the run” blogs.  Did that make sense? Probably not-then again, our morning show doesn’t so why should the blog!? OOOOOOOOOOOH! LOLOL!  A little Bob and Lori dig. We can pick on ourselves right? Onward with a quick recap:

Movie of the morning-”Alice in Wonderland.” guessed by Marcy Diessler of Pine Bush! Two tickets to Destinta went out to her!! Thanks for playing!

AI…tonight is elimination night! What two guys and two girls will be axed? Tim Urban, Todrick Hall, Haeley Vaughn and Lacey Brown..that’s my prediction. Whatchya think…any thoughts?

AND, we’re being TOTALLY relentless with this kid in the control tower talking to pilots.   Hehehehehe…more fun tomorrow.

Okay friends, gotta run. We’ll chat with you tomorrow morning beginning at 6!

It’s Wednesday…

by LoriG on Mar.03, 2010, under The Fox Early Mornining Show

and we only had two school delays this morning! Woo hoo!!  AND, the week is almost over with too!

Okay. So here’s my thought at the moment. Ya ready?  As I sit here at my desk typing away, the remnants of three jelly donuts, crumbs from a BAG of dorito’s and twenty foil candy wrappers from hershey kisses are scattered all over  Bob O’s desk…all while onion permeates from the roast beef sandwich Bob O brought for lunch (by the way…he’s just finishing the last bite) and his bag of Reese’s pieces close to his side waiting to meet their demise, I can’t help but to wonder to myself….”self” I say, ”how come this man eats like an elephant…a horse…a bottomless pit -animal…and he isn’t 500 pounds!!?   Why is that?  Is it because he’s a man and has a metabolism of a race car, like MOST men do? Is that it? Or, is it that a corpse has more of a metabolism than I do and i’m just jealous because I can’t eat like that and have to work out for an hour to burn off  a carrot!? OR…could it be that I’m only five foot two ( by  five foot two, i’m a perfect square hehehehe) and everything that I eat just happens to go to my butt!!? Girls…help me out here. I think it might be that  Bob is six foot four inches of annoyance and can burn the calories. Yeah..that’s it and i’m jealous. But guess what? At lease the blood gets to MY feet!  It’ll catch up with him one day. Sorry, enough of my ranting.

We actually got to Morning Movie Madness!! The movie was “Air Force One.” Congrats to Joan Moore of Goshen, Ny winning the two tickets to Destinta Movie Theaters in New Windsor!  Brainbuster Trivia will be back tomorrow morning as we got on the topic of the air traffic controller that LET HIS KID TRANSMIT INSTRUCTIONS TO A PILOT!! What the?  Sorry, not cute. INSANE IS MORE LIKE IT!!  Our question was, why didn’t the pilot say something back to “ground control” like..’hey kid your ham radio is interferring with this 747..get off the air! ” LOLOL seriously, what the heck are people thinking? What are YOUR thoughts?

American Idol recap: The guys took to the stage last night because of Crystal Bowersox “medial issues” that prevented her from singing. So they switched things around and the guys performed last night-girls will tonight. My thought…here’s the top 3…Mike Lynche, Casey James and DEFINITELY..Lee Dewyze!   Agree?  And i’m keeping an eye on Alex Lambert too. We’ll see what all of us think tomorrow night…elimination night.  More “AI” chat tomorrow.

And last but soooo not least….we did a story about a husband who was blind folded by his wife and told him that she had a surprise for him in the basment.  Well, she wasn’t lying because she took him down there, spun him around three or four times, made him count to a hundred and then BLUDGEONED HIM TO DEATH WITH A HAMMER!  True story. Now, c’mon. Ladies, ladies, ladies, violence isn’t needed here.  No need to get physical with your man! I have some creative ways to get back at your hubbywithouth the violence. Ask Patti O..Bob’s wife. I’ve already given her a few pointers! LOLOLOL Just kidding. Don’t go reporting me to the authorities- like someone did to an East Stroudsburg teacher!! She posted her Facebook status and said her co-workers were getting on her nerves and she wanted to kill them.  Uh…um…uh….uh oh…uh..eh hem…could this blog posting be used in a court of law? Uh…

Weeell, my friend. I think that’s enough of Lori G’s blog rantings (as Wolf boy Johnny and Bob o put it) for one day.

Have a good one, talk to you tomorrow morning at 6! I promise, no ranting,

Maybe.
